How Data Usage Scales

In peer-to-peer networking, every player's actions must be broadcast to everyone else in the lobby. Because of this, data usage doesn't scale linearly with player count, it multiplies.

If your game sends an average of 15 MB/hour per player, a 4-player lobby requires 12 active data streams. Doubling that to an 8-player lobby creates 56 data streams.

As playtime increases, the difference diverges rapidly. Doubling your lobby size increases your transfer usage by nearly 5x.

It includes the native Godot 4 plugin, global relay network, player statistics, global leaderboards, player accounts, and 200 MB/day data transfer. No credit card is required to get started. You only need to upgrade when your player base grows and your game genuinely requires more capacity.

The free plan is designed to take your game from prototype to your first live players. When you start hitting the 200 MB/day transfer limit or need lobbies larger than 4 players, the Indie plan at $7/month removes the daily limit, increases lobby size to 8 players, and adds 100 MB cloud storage. From there, each plan tier scales with your game as your player base grows.

GD-Sync supports up to 4 players per lobby on the free plan, 8 on the Indie plan, 10 on the Basic plan, and 16 on the Advanced plan.

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your GD-Sync plan at any time with a few clicks from the control panel. There are no long-term contracts and changes take effect immediately.

No. GD-Sync does not charge per player or per concurrent user. Plans are based on data transfer capacity, lobby size, and cloud storage limits. You pay a flat monthly rate and your costs only increase if you choose to add extra data packs on the Advanced plan.
